GOLD AND STRIPES {MY FAVORITE 5}

I'm so excited to have Emily from Gold and Stripes here today!  I came across Emily's blog while hosting our Best of the Nest link party, and I'm so glad I did!  Then, I was so happy to meet her in person at Haven this summer.  You will quickly see why I like Emily's blog so much...our taste is so similar and I think all of her favorite things are mine too!

Hi, everyone! I'm Emily from Gold & Stripes! I've been blogging since December but I've only really tried to "get serious" about my blog since attending Haven Conference this past July. I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer at Haven but I've also been following her blog and pinning her pictures for quite a long time. Jennifer has impeccable taste and I am so honored that she asked me to guest post and share some of my personal favorite posts from my blog.

I like to consider my style pretty versatile and eclectic. I love some modern, glamorous pieces but I'm not afraid to throw in vintage pieces from the thrift store! If it's not obvious enough from the title of my blog, I'm an absolute sucker for all things gold & striped. Seriously, I don't have an ounce of will power when it comes to these two trends. In my book, more is more when it comes to bold geometric patterns and metallic.

My recent fave is my daughter's latest room reveal.  I poured myself in to lots of little DIY projects like making a marquee light from a canvas board, lining the curtains with fringe, and putting together a sweet vintage plate wall to accent her PB kitchen.

My favorite projects usually consist of the same overall formula..cheap, easy, quick. And this  DIY Spotted Art project was exactly that. Using supplies I already owned, I whipped up two canvases in less than 5 minutes and I couldn't have been happier. They were just what we needed to tie in the space (temporarily)

My Craigslist Bookshelf Makeover post is one that I must share, not just due to the fact that it's my most popular post to date, but because I absolutely loved this project! At  a whopping $80 in project costs turning this media unit to fake the built-in look added a major focal point to our living room!

My DIY Agate Trinket Box post was a project that I really enjoyed. Right when agate was becoming a big trend, I was seeing a ton of agate boxes that were quite expensive. So I decided to make one myself and I was so pleased! This was hands down my easiest project ever!

Last but definitely not least is this post on my DIY Greek Key Trim Lampshades. I love what a simple project can do to tie together a space. This is another one of those easy  impact projects!

I hope you've enjoyed reading and thank you so much for sticking with me today.  Please come by and visit my blog or Instagram for more projects just like these!

Isn't it obvious why we're friends?  I have a set of faux agate coasters, and I'm thinking I might need to sacrifice one to make my own trinket box!  You'll totally want to check out Emily's full home tour for lots of gorgeous eye candy, and her campaign chest makeover is a favorite of mine.

Thanks for sharing with us today, Emily!
