TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, BUT COME MEET A NEW FRIEND!

Well, I was all set with a post that I wanted to share with you today, and as I was working on it last night, of course, I couldn't find 1 or 2 little pictures that I needed.  They're somewhere buried in a few thousand pics on my memory card.  I'll need a little more time to look through and find them.  I've got to find a better system!  I'm bad about not downloading them very often, or naming them, so there are just thousands of numbered photos on my card to flip through.  I'm all ears for good suggestions for dealing with photos!

So, instead, I have an introduction for you today.  Meet my friend (in real life!) Emily from Eleven Gables.  Don't you just love her blog name?  We grew up going to church together.  We bought my first (used) car when I was 16 from her brother (a cherry red 1982 Camaro with a moon roof...sometimes I wish I still had that car!).  We went on youth group ski trips filled with laughter and pillow fights together.  Her family always seemed to personify class, elegance, and grace. You would never know by looking at her gorgeous home, but she loves a good thrift find, as well as anything with a Southern feel, and Staffordshire dogs!  :)

Here's just a sample of the gorgeousness you'll see on Emily's blog.  Very recently, she completed a huge down-to-the-studs kitchen remodel.

Oh, how I'm loving the traditional brick floor and white cabinetry mixed with the updated pendant lanterns and modern lucite barstools!  Here's the before...can you believe it's the same kitchen?

And now she's in the process of working on her formal half bath.  She just made over the vanity with the help of some Annie Sloan chalk paint, and is now on the hunt for the perfect wallpaper!

She is just dipping her toe into the blogging waters, so I'm sure she'd love to meet some new friends.  Please go over and say hi!  You can follow her on Instagram here too, where she shares lots of fun progress shots of the remodeling progress for her beautiful home!

I hope your week is off to a great start!  This is our last week of school, so there is no lack of activities going on.  I'm decorating the school gym for 5th grade graduation (no small task!), but we're keeping it simple and fun.  But for now, I'm off to find those elusive photos!
