BEST OF THE NEST LINK PARTY FEATURES {3} AND A FUN ANNOUNCEMENT

Can we just slow things down a little bit?  It's already Friday again!  Thank you all so much for all of your wonderful links last week.  We all had a very creative and productive April!  Here are just a few of my favorites.  Remember, you can follow our Best of the Nest Pinterest board to see more highlights.

Kristin from Bliss at Home posted her tutorial for how she made this amazing Worlds Away inspired bar cabinet FROM SCRATCH!  I'm pretty sure that needs to come live at my house, Kristin.  :)

Kristi from Making it in the Mountains shared this recipe for Thai Steak Salad with Peanut Dressing.  She assured us it's easier than it looks!

Melanie from The Painted Chandelier shared her french armchair makeover.  Gold framed chairs? Yes, please.

Heather from Southern State of Mind made these adorable gifts in a jar for a recent girls' weekend.  Go check out how she filled them, and what she tied to the outside.  Brilliant!

Denise from Frazzled Joy shared her Dining Room makeover.  You must go see the before to fully appreciate the after.  How fun are those orange drapes with the pom pom trim?

Finally, @theresemariedesigns linked up this chic jacket through Instagram (#bestofthenestlinkparty).  This girl has some serious sewing skills!

Thanks for another great link party, friends.  We'll do it again May 30!

Also today, I'm so excited to announce a fun summer series that YOU can be a part of, too!  Somehow, I was invited to be in the company of these amazingly talented bloggers for this year's Summer Style Soiree.

Each month throughout the summer we will create a project inspired by one of these style icons:

And, you'll have a chance to link up your own project too!  You can go wherever your creativity leads you...a recipe, a craft, an outfit, a tablescape...the sky's the limit!  So get to thinking and get busy, our first style soiree is less than two weeks away!  Many thanks to Heather from Southern State of Mind for organizing this big ol' party! (And hey!  She just happens to be one of our features from today!)

I hope all of you have a fantastic weekend. We have a percussion concert and State Bible Drill to attend, and our girl's birthday to celebrate!  How can she possibly be 11???

  6. Thanks for including my jacket in your post today. Every garment I make has its mistakes. For a while my signature goof was making buttonholes too small (in one case I had to get in and out of a wool crepe jacket over my head, like a t-shirt). Not gonna tell what's wrong with this one, but the buttonholes are just the right size.

  11. Your daughter is darling! Time goes by WAY too fast, doesn't it? Thanks so much for featuring my chair, Jennifer! I love reading the 4 of y'all's blogs and seeing the beautiful projects you're working on or reading tidbits about your families. ( btw, I'm a PK, too!! ) My Daddy was a Southern Baptist preacher in TX, where I'm from, and then TN, where I spent my middle and high school years. So fun to connect through blogging :)
