Recipes I've Pinned...And Actually Made!

Oh, how we love to click that little "Pin it!" button!  Thought I'd share with you
a few things I've actually made lately...

Crock Pot Baked Potato Soup- Mama Loves Food:  This involved just a little bit of prep and turned out really well.  I served it for lunch with friends and then my whole family enjoyed it for a meal
(it makes a lot!).  The bacon and shredded cheese on top is a must!

Waffle Iron Cinnamon Rolls-A Hen's Nest  These didn't really taste different than if they were cooked in the oven, but the novelty of it was fun.  They were ready a bit quicker than they would have been if cooked in the oven and I didn't have to heat it up.
That may be a bonus this summer!

Crock Pot Chicken Burritos from A'lamode.  These could not have been easier!  This recipe also yields a lot.  We ate on it for two meals and I had
enough to freeze for at least one more meal.

30 Minute Rolls from Real Mom Kitchen- I made these a while back and they are good if you're in a pinch for time.  They did turn out rather large and very dense/heavy though.  Next time I'll probably make them into 24 smaller rolls rather than the 12 that the recipe called for.  They have a really yeast-y taste.  Yum!

Light Strawberry Cupcakes-Mix a strawberry cake mix with a can of diet Sprite or 7-Up.  Mix and bake according to the directions on the package (but omitting eggs, oil, and water-I also decreased the baking time a bit).   Top with light Cool-Whip.  My batch made 19 cupcakes.  These were SO GOOD!  They were light and moist and flavorful.  I think I liked them even better than the original cake mix, and it's dangerous knowing they're only around 75 calories each-a little too easy to eat more than one!  My husband's only complaint-he wanted some real icing on them.

The potato soup reminds me of an awesome recipe (on my blog, actually) that we loooooove. Can you believe I have a crock pot and never use it? Seriously, we've been married over 12 years and I've used it twice for velveeta and rotel dip (ha!) and once for meat and veggies...I think. I have no idea why I don't use it, I just don't. (I heard you gasp. I'm sure of it.) Lol. ;)

My kids would probably love the novelty of the cinnamon roll waffles.

And hello burritos...love, love, love any kind of Mexican food. Guess I'll have to get the crock pot out after all! ;)

  5. My favorite recipe that I've gotten via Pinterest was a chicken and wild rice casserole and it is DELICIOUS! It requires some chopping and prep work but it is worth it and really hearty (and my 18 month old daughter loves it too). I might have to make it this weekend. And the best part is that there is no cream of whatever.
